Does Charlie get tuition aid?

He can't run that factory without a degree. No way!

He has to work his way up or else it will fail. Too many logistics etc.

Degrees didn't help George Bush Jr. be a successful businessman in any way.

reply

Regardless of whatever your political affiliation is, I highly doubt he as ever successful. Perhaps if he had a degree, he would be known as such.

Ah a college degree. That thing you get after studying Maslow for four years. Give me a break. Did you even watch the movie? It's the complete opposite of a butt kising Ivy League brown nose Wonka wanted.

Hey! You're not old enough to drink! Now go and die for your country!!!

reply

Why would he need a degree? He owns the fvc<ing place, he can do what he wants.

The greatest trick the Devil played was convincing people he didn't exist.....

Think you replied to the wrong person.

Try it then when running a business. You will bankrupt it. You would either need to take classes to know how to invest or you would have to hire someone that could do it for you. Most businesses were started with just the sole owner, however, they had to hire someone, who was educated, to market their business.

Make chocolate, sell, repeat. No degree needed.
It is already a successful brand with everything in place. Wonka wanted a kid to run it because of a child's 'pure' imagination. You don't need a degree in pure imagination.

reply

Really?

Do you know how to make chocolate? Do you know how to make Wonka's chocolate? Do you know how to get in touch with the right people to market the product? It was obvious that it started as a small business and grew. Even if had a successful brand, it is highly doubtful that you could just "run the business". Even big corporations like Coca Cola, Pepsi, McDonald's etc. still need people with degrees to think up new ideas. Brands get old, products get old.

There are actually degrees to broaden the creative mind. Think of all the "useless" degrees that people poke fun at. Those will be all your creative minded degrees. Even if Charlie was just running the factory, he needs to also know profit/loss. There is no way the factory would stay in business if he did not have a mind for bookkeeping. There is a lot of accounting, payroll etc. that needs to be considered.

I guess you missed where Wonka was going to teach Charlie all about chocolate making. The rest was already in place.
Still, keep trying to convince everyone you are right when clearly you are talking bollocks!

If those pen pushers up at city hall don't like it,well, they swivel on this middle digit!

reply

I am not right nor wrong, I was just asking a question. Your first answer was "he can do what he wants, he owns the factory." That was not a satisfactory answer and so you went two comments before I replied back to your third.

You seem to be pushing the notion that people SHOULD NOT have degrees when running a business, when my question specifically stated something you could answer only if thinking OUTSIDE of the movie.

Well, one person actually answered that question. You, however, are still against the notion that degrees are not possible and should not be considered.

I personally hope you do not run a business.

reply

My first answer was right....he can and it is satisfactory, just not to you.
I'm not pushing the notion that you should not have a degree, I'm pushing the notion that he didn't need one. As for thinking outside of the movie, your original post was 'Does Charlie get tuition aid? How is that outside of the movie when it is a specific question about a fictional character?
If one person answered your question then why keep coming back to me? As for whether or not I run my own business without a degree, am I coming across as somebody who has failed at business?

reply

You're coming across as a person with a failed business mentality.

And yet I haven't failed at my business, so that would make your opinion wrong.
Still never mind eh?

reply

He is going to be trained by Wonka, plus i"m sure Wonka makes so much money he can afford to send Charlie to school as well.

Well that was what I was wondering. Would Wonka give Charlie Bucket tuition assistance to complete the required classes?

I suspect he will give Charlie everything he ever needs while molding him into his replacement.

It could have been, however, I highly doubt if it went global, it was a small business. Small businesses technically never needed degrees. The marketing of the brand would have needed distributors, a marketing director, etc. and all those positions need degrees.

For the sake of the movie, his business was global; however, I am sure it had to start as a small business before it caught on and he had to mass create everything. McDonalds did not just start global, it was a hamburger stand in OH and then it went to California, marketed to go national and then international.
