I've got the UK R2 vesion of VP, but it doesn't have the UK extra scenes. To my amazement, there doesn't seen to be a Region 2 release of the UK version. I've got the UK version saved on Sky+, but only have the standard UK DVD (which is the chopped down version of VP, same as the American version).
Does anyone know where I can get a Region 2 copy of the UK edition, or if it has even been released?
Thanks.

OK, I bought a 2-sided copy at Walmart last year: One side, US version, other side, UK version, with deleted scenes INCLUDED in the film(both in Region 1). When I started to play it, I saw Charlotte Rampling in the credits, and went "Huh????" because I've seen VP many times since I first saw it in 1972, and definitely didn't remember those blue eyes. I'm not going to tell what the scenes are, just that they happen Saturday night...and there was no reason for them to be deleted, especially since they added to the film. I haven't gotten to them while listening to the Dircetor's Commentary, but it'll be interesting to hear why Ms Rampling's role was deleted
I know the U.K cut is readliy available on R1 (US), but for the life of me I can't get a R2 (UK) version anywhere of the UK cut! (it's kind of ironic). I've got the US (R2) version on DVD and the UK version saved on my sattelite TV hard drive (which is nice as it's in HD too), but I'm a collector junkie who needs it on DVD as well.

Again, thanks for the suggestion, but I already have the UK version saved on Sky+ (HD too...woohoo!). What I am after is a R2 DVD for my DVD collection, but it seems that the UK don't get the UK version yet.
Ah well, thanks all for the suggestions.

Very wierd. I've seen this film loads of times here in the UK since it was first released, both in the cinema and on UK terrestrial TV and I had never seen the Charlotte Rampling scene, didn't even know it existed. However, last night I saw the film for the first time on a Sky movie channel and they transmitted the deleted scene. But Rampling's name wasn't on the credit list at the end of the film.
Was she a big star? I've seen her in a Woody Allen movie and that Sean Connery flick where there is a giant stone head flying around throwing guns to barbarians in a post apocolyptic world.
