To tell the time. The glass flips out of the way. He can feel the position of the hands.

Hey, it's funny you mentioned that type of watch. I'd never seen or heard of a watch like that until the other day, looking at russian watches on Ebay. Press the crown, and the glass flips open. Kind of like a pocketwatch.

I don't think so. The hands of a wristwatch are so delicate, they would be easily damaged.
