What the hell. It made no sense? Surfing , then the surfboard washes up? Weird scene.

What's so weird? She fell off and drowned.

Yeah, thanks, I got that part. It was strange, and somewhat dreamy. He seemed so nonchalant about it.

My wife has been a surfer for decades. It would be extraordinary for anyone to fall off and drown, unless they were tow-in surfing on giant waves. But it's a movie, not a surfing documentary.
