Dodge Challenger

I know the movie came out in 1971,but it must have been released again because I saw it at the drive in my 1972 Challenger.

I had a white one with the black strobes on the side.I put chrome mags on it, added air shocks in the rear, and raised it just enough to make my Challenger a sleek beauty. The movie became a favorite and I have it Blue Ray. I sold it unfortunately and the buyer ended up totalling it running away from the police.

I collected models and articles about the cars thru the years. One article wrote how the Challenger was everything the Mustang wanted to be. I didn't like the Barracuda as much and the Challenger was the car of choice for my muscle car.

Than Graveyard carz came along and started to restore them along with other Mopar cars. The new models came along and I wanted one. Sat in them at my yearly car show and the price was too much. Finally got a new Silver one and enjoying the ride and new technology.It's a thicker body and made to look thinner with black under panels. There are differences, the stayed with the original rear lights and they made the rear end just high enough to give it the sleek look I made with air shocks.

The car has been and continues to be used in movies and commercials old and new, not to mention video games. The Mustang may still beat the Challeger in races, but will never be as cool looking as the Challenger. With the phone apps and talking features, it makes today's car alive. I will never abuse it's power or lay scratch as I did when I was young, I hope the body style remains for years to come.

I finally watched the remake today and hated to see all those cars damaged or destroyed, it was fitting that they used a white Camero for the first movies ending. Yes, the Camero, stuck between the Mustang and Challenger.
