History term paper

I'm doing a history term paper on how movies of the 70's effected culture and one of my topics is about blaxploitation films and I want to understand what a movie like Sweet Backs BAd ASSS song said about the nation or the changing film industry during that time. Any help appreciated. Thank you!

Films like this appealed to so many people and had such a large impact, mostly because you need films that you can relate to, films where you can put yourself in the heroes shoes and blaxapolotin films did exactly that. Many were over done, but it did provide a mentality to which was needed during a time of establishing equal rights.
