Why did they pick SUCH a weasel to play the boy lead?

I guess if they wanted cocky (no pun intended) and natural boyhood curiousity, I guess they got it... but the actor is so extremely off-putting.

I just want to smack this punk in the face, but not like the way his MOM did. I want to outright sock him one ("that's what she said!", I know...)!

His face is an irresistable fist-magnet, most certainly.

One of my favorite moments in the movie is when his mom slaps him. I still can't understand why she'd use an open hand.

IMDb-boards would be less confusing if people would mark their signatures clearly.
