I've seen the movie and liked it very much. Louis Malle did tremendous job creating such a wonderful film. Especially the soundtrack. So I got a question to all Charlie Parker or Sidney Bechet fans.
What's the track that plays when brothers enter the brothel? (it's exactly 40 min. from the beginning)
Please, tell me if you know, that song just blew my mind.

It's Perez Prado's Mambo no. 5.

Which was remade into a smash hit song by that one guy in whatever year it was!

I wouldn't say Lou Bega remade so much as he sang terribly with Mambo No. 5 was in the background.

I absolutely loathe that song. It was big during my freshman year of college and a pseudo-roommate of mine played it endlessly.

The original soungtrack is available on vinyl and perhaps on cd. It is great.
