I read online how gory this Bava classic is but when I recorded it on IFC it didn't seem all that gory to me.
Maybe I've seen too many horror movies but I've definitely seen higher gore in a Fulci movie!
The IFC version is rated R, were there scenes missing?

There were two versions of the film released. An edited version and an unedited version. "Bay of Blood" is the edited version and the one that usually shows up on television and the one easiest to purchase on DVD. The unedited version is intitled "Twitch of the Death Nerve". You never see it on TV, but can purchase it on DVD through Amazon.
