I think he was the one who was stabbed in the stomach with the scissors as he tried to attacked the wife with an axe.
I thought he was the one who showed up at the very end who struggled with the husband but lost........

he used his Jedi abilities... just kiddin' ... I think he was a good friend with them so he knew what two of them are capable of...

Simon knew Laura was involved with his step-father and that she was the one who got the step-father to murder Simon's mother. How he figured this out is not explained, but it's not too hard to imagine he could have seen Laura and his step-father and put two and two together.
We see Ventura attack Renata with an axe,and she stabs him in the groin with a pair of scissors. THEN we see him supposedly dead when Anna discovers him (and gets her head chopped off by Renata); however he later crawls to Laura and asks her to find Simon, resulting in Laura's demise; when we next see Ventura,it's at the end, attempting to stab Albert while Renata tries to see what's happening through the darkness; we hear a scream; next,Albert is wondering how he could have done it,so Ventura's fate was dragged out from the moment he was first stabbed. Only 4 out of 13 adults committed murder.
