The Image Entertainment DVD release under the title "Twitch of The Death Nerve" runs at 84 mins but none of the violence is cut.

She shivers in the wind, like the last leaf of a dying tree.

reply

The movie only runs 84 minutes. There is no longer version, regardless of what the IMDB or anyone else says.
The audio on the Image DVD is horrible BTW.

I saw the 90 minute cut on IFC last night. It went under the title Bay of Blood.

reply

same good ol ifc

reply

If you want to buy it in england it costs a grand total of 97p from music zone, haven't watched it yet though.

reply

Is that version uncut? I know it reads '84 minutes' and that's the original and only runtime I've read of.

But Im gonna try for the kingdom, if I can"

reply

it just says previously banned, i'm no expert on the movie, to be honest i watched it last night and thought it was crap, sorry.

reply

Yeah I agree, I watched it earlier and I don't think it's uncut, it says 84 minutes but that could be spread out with any old rubbish.
What did you not like about it? if you don't mind discussing it, I enjoyed it in terms of story I think it's a highly entertaining storyline (not on the level of Mulholland Drive or Twin Peaks) but for a horror movie it was interesting.

Ijust found it a little slow and boring, plus what may have been at one time innovative has now become kind of cliche, such as reactions/comments to different situations, not bad for a 97p film but not something i'll watch again and again, (i might have to watch it one more time as i watched it without the missus and she was a bit annoyed)

reply

I have a version put out by Gorgon video and it reads 87 min.

reply

It is crap, done by Bava for the bucks and certainly no indication of the man's talent. Let's face it, sometimes he made junk.

reply

dont feel sorry for being a fool.

The version shown on IFC is the same one as the current dvd available. The film runs 84 minutes, there are no longer versions. Btw, IFC sucks; they show commercials during the movies. They never used to do that.
"IMdB; where 14 year olds can act like jaded 40 year old critics...'

PAL runs faster than NTSC,ABOUT 4MIN, in a 90 min. film. When I'm not here I'm listening to DEADPIT.COM , HORROR TALK RADIO !!!

reply

the BBFC website says that the 1994 version of the film, the version i'm guessing most people are watching, was cut by 43 seconds

reply

Note: The Simitar DVD version of Bay of Blood runs 80 mins. I have yet to view the 84 min. version, so I have no idea what might be cut.

reply

Anchor Bay is releasing the Bava collection 2 on Oct. 23 it will contain Bay of Blood (also in the box is Lisa and the Devil, 4 Times That Night, Baron Blood, Roy Colt and Winchester Jack, and something that I can't remember)

reply

This is another one of those mysterious films with a longer running time stated on imdb than in the real version. The American Image dvd is uncut (although with terrible sound as someone pointed out earlier). The Simitar dvd looks horrible, like a bad vhs dupe. It is also missing some footage (none of the violence) and is a PAL - NTSC conversion. The Italian dvd has a nice soundtrack in Italian with English subtitles. It says on the box that there is also an English soundtrack but there is not. The running time on the box is 95 minutes(!) but it is 81 minutes PAL (approx 84-85 mins NTSC). All current UK versions are cut. If they had bothered to re submit it to the BBFC for the latest release I have no doubt it would have been passed uncut. They just used the old version instead.

Be horny.

anchor bay needs to release it BUY ITS SELF!

they could do a really good job with it too. yesterday (10/23) Black Sunday and Black Sabbath were released on single disc competly UNCUT! with some reasonable extras.

maybe anchor bay could to that for this one, i don't want to buy a DVD BOX Set for ONE movie! i just want Twitch of the Dead Nerve!

reply

So what does an uncut version offer that the cut version does not?
