the premise of the movie is flawed.

Didn't it last longer back then? I know nowadays that it won't, but wasn't it more potent back in the day?

As long as it is sealed in airtight container. The problem with today's gas is the ethanol which absorbs water.

I don't think 2 years is out of the question if its been sealed and stabilizer added to it.

I've never had a problem with my off-season power equipment firing up the next season if I stored the tanks full and with a fuel stabilizer.
