Was Lisa black in the script?

Out of curiosity, was Lisa black in the script? Just wondering. I'm also wondering if there was a reason behind making her black. Again, just wondering. Were they trying to make a statement?

I remember speaking to someone that saw Omega Man in theaters back when it came out. He said that when Charlton Heston and Rosalind Cash kissed you could hear the audience gasp.

I just watched the extras on the Blu-ray release, and Joyce Corrington (the coauthor of the script) said in an interview that she wanted to add the dramatic conflict of "the last man on earth finding the last woman on earth---and she's black."

Next time you see me, it won't be me

And if she wasn't supposed to be Black in the script, then what? You're going to whine and shudder?

Why don't you get look around the script and read it for yourself? Lazy much?

There is a deleted scene where Lisa is pregnant with Neville's baby.

I read the script along time ago, and the boy Richard was described as having dark-blond hair, so I suppose Lisa and him were both supposed to be white, but they changed it.

Lea Michele is a man-stealing bitch!

In the novel "I Am Legend" Lisa is described as a redhead with a suntan I believe. I remember when my nephew watched the movie, right after reading the novel, he said "Well it said she had a tan" lol

I won a copy of the script from a charity auction, signed by Heston and the producer. Lisa was black in the script.

Believe it or not. I saw this movie in the theatre when it first came out. When Lisa was shone naked, the audience cheered. But then again, it was an all black audience.
