Big Screen?

Has anyone heard any new news on the possibility of bringing Kolchak to the big screen? I had heard that Nick Nolte and Bruce Willis were being recruited to play Carl Kolchak. I think this would be an incredible movie. Even if they were to bring it back as a t.v movie again it would be fun. The first "Nightstalker" telemovie was and still is a phenomenal movie.

I'd hate to see them ruin the original but this may probably be a case in point where a remake is a good idea.

But I'd rather see it done as an independent movie or cable movie rather than as a big heavily-promoted theatrical release with all kinds of sponsors involved trying to influence the rating and script and trying to put reality stars, pop singers and rappers in supporting roles.

Which is basically what will happen if they do a remake anyway, so I say "NO".

Hopefully it won't use the cast from the new remake of the TV Show where they got Stuart Townsend to play Kolchak.

Bruce Willis would NOT be a good Kolchak. Nolte might do alright, maybe, if he could act quirky enough.

Darren McGavin owned the role of reporter Carl Kolchak. Then again, the new "Star Trek" film was a bright spot in recasting such iconic roles. It could work if you had good actors.
