At the beginning of the film when all of the spectators are driving and walking to the race, is one of them driving a GT40? If anyone shows any interest in the post i'll try to find around what time in the film you can see it. It's only for a few seconds.
Your right the car is indeed a GT40, the MK3 road verson with wire wheels. These road car versions were sold for £3500 ne in the 60's, but believe it or not did not sell very well. An additional piece of trivia is that a GT40 was used as a camera car by having the roof chopped off and cameras mounted to it, this is so realistic high speed shots could be gained. Imagine cutting down an Enzo today to do the same thing.
Thank you both for your feedback. Truly a great film about a great race. Should another racing movie be made it should a have "no CGI" clause but...I'm a dreamer.
