2nd Kink in Mulsanne Straight.
Does anyone know if the 917's & the 512's could drive through the second kink of Mulsanne Straight at top speed in the wet?

Definetly not. The Porsche´s and Ferrari´s were already unstable at High-Speed under dry-conditions. In minimum case, they had to lob hard the gas pedal, more likely than not to put one Speed down in the Gear.

Ich kam, sah und ging wieder...
Recently I was lucky enough to share some words with a hero of mine, Vern Schuppan. I asked him whether his Porsche 956 could drive through the said kink flat out. Immediately the answer shot back "Yep, absolutely. The ground effects cars could go through there flat out in the WET. It's not really that hairy. The most 'interesting' time through there is when you go side by side in the wet, in the night, with someone who you are unsure of"
I asked about the 917s and he said "Yeah, no worries, flat strap".
He finished by teasing me saying "Now,... the Masta Kink at the original Spa cricuit is a whole new subject!...".
