I don't own a Blu-ray player, and really can't afford to buy one at the moment, but, I'm wondering if anyone knows whether the picture and/or sound quality of the new standard DVD is better than that of the older DVD?

I have the older one, and would like to know whether, if I purchased the new one, I'd be getting anything other than the trailer and making of feature as an upgrade to what I've got.

Well, I can't seem to find any reviews of the new DVD release, so I shot off an email to the folks at Chad McQueen's racing website as a last resort. Hopefully they can tell me something.
Anyway, here's a nice little interview with Chad...

I've only seen clips so far but they look pretty good. Looks like it's mastered from an original 35mm 2.35/1 print.

Yes, the sound is ridiculously rich on the BluRay. Visuals is nothing to sneeze at either. I don't normally gush over Blurays but this really is the deal. I highly recommend that you get the bluray (or barring that, buy the Bluray and make a digital copy to play on your computer).

Just my one cent since I can't afford two.
