Repulsion (Polanski) and Klute - Mild Spoilers

I think it's an awesome coincidence that I watched Klute the day after I saw Repulsion. Klute is Alan J. Pakula's first film of his informal "paranoia trilogy" and Repulsion is the first of Polanski's "apartment trilogy".

What's also interesting is how the sexual themes of both films perfectly contrast each other. Bree's first time having meaningful sex makes her feel apprehensive but overall she knows it makes her feel good enough to not want to "destroy it".

While in Repulsion, Carole has developed a fear of men and sex because of her childhood abuse and trauma .

We can become cops, or criminals. But when you're facing a loaded gun, what's the difference?

Repulsion was made in 1965 and is still pretty impressive. Klute is very interesting (I was so impressed with Jane Fonda's acting in this movie).
