The French Connection (1971) vs The Conversation (1974)
which is better?
shareThe French Connection
shareThey both feature Gene Hackman and both are great films in their own right. The Conversation is a thinking man's movie.
shareThe Conversation
shareTough one.
I identify more with Hackman's obsessive, cerebral character in Conversation.
But I like watching the smart hothead driven character of Popeye Doyle in French Connection more.
So I got to go with Connection.
"What the Hell is that Earl?!"
Gotta go with the French Connection because it's more of my kinda movie: action packed cop thriller. The Conversation was neat, different, and suspenseful though. Crazy movie.
shareTFC, but not by much, imo.
