The guy who tests the heroin with the bunson burner? I don't see him in the credits and he looks so familiar it's driving me insane.

Patrick McDermott. He's in the credits, listed as "Chemist".

Never saw him in anything else. He was great here. Wonder what happened to him.

He seemed so familiar but he wasn't in much else was weird because he was great in this small role.

McDermott was also in the film JOE, which starred Peter Boyle. In it, he played Susan Sarandon's hippie boyfriend. I don't know any of his other credits.

Oh yeah that is where I had seen him. I am gonna have to re-watch Joe it's been so long since I saw it.
