Modern Jewish people

Would this film be a correct representation on the traditions and life styles of the modern Jewish people? Of course, some small details might be different but the fundamentals; such as things about marriage.

Go on. Get out of my sight.

reply

No, it's supposed to be representative of typical shtetl life in the late 19th/early 20th century.

Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.

Actually, there are some areas (particularly the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn) where Jewish people continue to live almost exactly the way they did in the movie.
Of course, today they have access to modern machinery and technology, but their general way of thinking is unchanged from the 19th century.

No, not really. Half of my friends growing up were Jewish, and I didn't understand what the hell it was that made Jewish people different from anyone else. We went to baseball games, movies, played games, hung out, and I didn't see anything that made people who called themselves Jewish different from anybody else.

It wasn't until I got older that I discovered some other people's prejudices. Pretty stupid stuff. I never met the stereotypical anything, including "Jews". And to this day I still have a hard time understanding what the hell people continue to drive wedges among themselves for superficial differences.
