What Did TCM Do To This Movie???

I was flipping through the channel guide and saw that this is on right now. So I tuned in, seeing as I love this movie. BUT, every scene is blurred, and I know it's not my eyes. WHAT DID THEY DO TO THIS MOVIE?! The sound is fine, but the picture is blurred. It is just not watchable like this! I am both stunned and disappointed with TCM. This is not like them to ruin a film!

No, there is nothing wrong with my T.V. I have a Hi-Def, flat screen T.V. and no other channel is doing this, only TCM. They have altered this movie somehow, and have blurred the scenes.

The good thing is thaT TCM is commercial free. If Fiddler was on a channel with commercials like TBS it would take about five hours to watch.

I'm watching this right now as well, it seems fine to me.

.. I am, in a word, terse.

It looks perfect to me.

I'm watching it now. Clear as a bell.

From the trivia section: "To get the look he wanted for the film, director Norman Jewison told Director of Photography Oswald Morris, who was famous for shooting color films in unusual styles, to shoot the film in an earthy tone. Morris saw a woman wearing brown nylon hosiery, thought "That's the tone we want," asked the woman for the stockings on the spot, and shot the entire film with a stocking over the lens. The weave can be
detected in some scenes." Maybe this is what you're noticing?

Just finished watching. Crystal clear...

I just watched it. It's as clear as an unmuddied lake, friend. As clear as an azure sky of deepest summer.
