Surprised they haven't re-done it
I'm sure its coming.
shareThey already have, it was called Zodiac. Not really, I know, but actually sort of it is.
shareBite your tongue
shareI am not supriced that Hollywood not have made a remake of this movie with a character named Harry Callahan.
Hollywood knows better, that they shall never mess with one of their most respected actors/directors and his fans.
You might get movies who has a hard boiled cop in it, who does not totally agree about how the system works, but that guys name will never be Harry Callahan, that name is reserved for Clint Eastwood only.
Agreed. This movie should be left alone. I can't see anyone else as Dirty Harry. 6.4 ht, tough, arrogant and with one liners.. He is Dirty Harry and that's Clint.
shareThis was an idea that I posted a while back.
My idea is to have two different actors play Harry, Clint Eastwood and Hugh Jackman. I actually wrote a story outline for this about two years ago.
In short, Present day: A series of vile child murders has an eastern US city on edge. The killings are exactly the same as a series of murders that occured in mid 70's San Francisco. Investigators from the new city pay a visit on a now retired Inspector Callahan. They ask for his input. He initially scoffs at the idea because of how many years have past and sends them on their way. Looking at the material that was left. Harry is drawn back in time to the hellish killings that went unsolved and unavenged. The camera zooms in on Eastwood's eyes slowly they morph into those of Jackman in 70's San Fran. He's in the middle of a situation that he handles in classic Harry style. The bulk of the movie is set in this time period and concludes with a fight between Harry and the killer. The punk escapes but a dazed Callahan get's a single shot off that marks the killer for life. As he fades in and out of consciousness his eyes again morph back to the present day Harry. At that point Harry see's something on a tv report that reveals the killer shocking identity to Harry. He goes to goes to a trunk in his bedroom and takes out something that he hasn't used in years, His 44 Magnum. he's ready to end this horror once and for all.
I know to some the thought of anyone playing Harry other than Clint is blasphemous. But watch Hugh Jackman play Wolverine. At this point this is the only way I see this working. For me the last time Clint looked like he could play Harry solo was in Space Cowboys.
Oh yes a PG-13 remake PC Harrold "Why do they call you PC?" "Because he likes everybody"
