Sledge Hammer! which ran from 1986-1988 was brilliant, any Dirty Harry fan who missed it should check it out, from one of the superb opening scenes (which bystanders thought was a new Dirty Harry been filmed)

I remember watching Sledge 30 years ago and laughing a lot, I have no idea if it's still funny now but unfortunately they boxed themselves in a corner when Sledge set off a nuclear bomb in the 1st season finale and they had nowhere to go but back in time which was lame.

Lol it wasn't lame at all, it was a spoof of it's rival Dallas (when they forgot about a whole season when Bobby appeared alive in the shower!).

It made no difference to the rest of the show as they just carried on as if it never happened...

They expected the show to be canceled at the end of the first season, so they decided to go out with a bang. The network fucked them by renewing it! The "prequel" second season was inspired and hilarious.
