Connery shouldn't have come back. Was looking heavier, past it (those eyebrows were out of control too!). the gay David Crosby henchman was a joke, Bond never really did fit the whole hippy era anyway. I guess they needed a place-holder until Moore took over in '73, but what a sad farewell to the Connery era (until the even worse idea of Never Say Never Again).
sharePersonally I think Connery is one of the few good things about NSNA. Yes he's older but he's not trying to pretens he's in his thirties any more. He's also lost the bored look but I suspect that's because he and McClory are trying to shaft Brocolli

Connery seemed like he didn't give a damn. He was 40 but he looked 50. He didn't get in shape. Moore who was 3 years older than Connery, almost looked like he was in his early 30s in Live and Let Die.
shareMid life crisis... his personal life may well be factor in this. The stresses of life are an unfortunate reality even for the richest of people. It can age you. Happily things seemed to settle down for him later on.
shareThat's true, Connery looked middle aged at 41 but Moore still looked youthful at 45. I think Connery just did DAF for the money and because UA offered him other movies, The Offence was one of them, very good, underrated film. He donated the 1.25 million pounds to the Scottish International Education Trust.
