Do women like this movie?

Thats a pretty generalized statement.
I am a 23 year old woman and love this movie. In fact i am going as Alex for halloween.

*most women... maybe. I can see why you ask this however because of the films content towards female violence?

Last time I checked there's a lot of women that like this movie.

There's nothing here that screams "men only".

This film was recommended to me by another woman, and I liked it too and would call it art. I avoided watching it when I was younger because I found the material too disturbing back then, but was able to handle it now.

As a rule, I don't like films that promote either hypersexualisation or the victimisation of women because I just can't relate to any of the female characters. I don't like the treatment of the female characters in the film (I don't tend to watch those scenes) but the film overall is fascinating and I enjoy it. I saw it in the theatre first and that was much better to me; more subtle and moving.

I am a woman and I love the movie and the book. They are not about the violence.
