How come I hate this movie yet LOVE other Kubrick movies?

I really hate this movie which is strange, because I LOVE every other Kubrick film! I have watched The Shining and Eyes Wide shut more times than I remember and I just re watched Full Metal Jacket today and love it. This one is just awful. I tried to watch it twice and couldn't stand it to the end. Annoying, disturbing, pointless, unpleasant, cold, soulless and boring is what I would describe it as. I hate everything about it : the characters, the way the music was used, the sound effects, the atmosphere, the costumes, the make-up, Alex's fake eyelashes, the female mannequins in the milk bar, Alex's hat, the voices of the actors, the words they used, and on and on. Just thinking about these things repulses me. I'm sorry but I don't find anything good to say about it other than it would be a good movie to torture people with which is hardly a good thing anyway. Anyone else feel the same??

This is one of my all time favorite films but everyone has a right to their own opinions and personal taste.
It's ok to like a director but not love all their films.
For instance I did not care for Kubrick's fear and desire but love all the rest.
Remember though clockwork orange is an allegory wrapped in a black comedy.
You might want to revisit it in 5-10 years and maybe you will get something different out of it.
Kubrick's films are like great novels, as we change and revisit them we find new meanings and small details we may have missed.

I don't know, judging by your picture you're a woman, I guess this movie sorta promotes rape and violence that is disturbing to women, I don't know. To me I really likes this film but yeah when I watched it the first time I turned it off because it was too disturbing, then I skipped the violent scenes and watch the entire movie it was kinda good. Very gratuitous rape and violence scenes though...

Doesn't promote rape or violence at all. Stupid comment. It focuses on a CHARACTER that enjoys rape and violence - to suggest that the FILM ITSELF is promoting rape and violence is missing the point entirely.

It is meant to be disturbing, but also funny. Alex is a classic character - enigmatic but fundamentally evil. The film juxtapositions individual evil and institutional evil.

Kubrick is my favorite director, and I feel the same as you about many aspects of this film. It's grown on me with repeated viewings somewhat, but I just don't see it as being up there with his best work. It has its moments, but it also has a lot of head-scratching grossness that I don't see as serving much purpose.
