Have clearly taken over the board. They just dont understand this movie at all. The wierd music, the english slang, the themes, the violence, the fact that it was made in the 70s, etc and so forth, have clearly left them scratching their heads. They dont know what to make of it.

I have been noticing this more and more amongst the millenials I know.
I can only hope they have a massive hippie like movement where they as a group shake off the Orwellian shackles they have been raised in and free their minds because there are alot ofgood kids in their midst.

Generalizations are valid if they are generally accurate. They do not have to be uniformly accurate to have value.
I do think millenials have a (not in the political sense) conservative outlook and sense of art and culture. I can see how that would affect their view of a film like this even if some enjoy it very much.

I mean, just wearing clothes from the period or decorating that way doesn't automatically guarantee every hipster is going to love the same genres of movies, tv and music. Kubrick is definitely informed by all decades - including the future - in his films.
Some of my friends people call hipsters love Pokemon Go and classic Kubrick and Jane Austen, it's great to see people of all ages enjoying the same things. I'm an old Boho goth. I just love anything that moves me.

I can't speak for all my peers, obviously, but I was born in 1999 and this is one of my favourite movies of all time. I like the book too, but the film is pure art and even though it may be frightening or violent, it has an important message, which is still relevant today.
I don't want to sound like 'the special snowflake' so I will just say that I remain optimistic and believe that there are more people in my generation that can appreciate this film, not all millenials are shallow and overly PC.

Even other film buffs I know in my age dont really appreciate movies like Clockwork orange , millenials tend to like more straightforward stories hence why MCU is bringing in a ton of Cash while I'll go watch Sicario all along in my local theatre
Also I hate when people say that not everyone like deep art films that needs analyzing cause they are not made for entertainmnet in the same way, ALL movies are made for entertaiment purpose

I'd say you're stereotyping a bit. This movie was made before I was born, yet I'd say that I would "get it". Of course there's loads of ignorant idiots among Millenials, but there where equally many among the Gen Xers. Remember Gen Xers where the ones ushering in the absolute retardation of Cinema with the likes of Michael Bay, Roland Emmerich, Wayans Brothers and Adam Sandler.
Not being ignorant and actually educating yourself about cinema is not so much a question of age but intellect and interest.
To add to that, the baby boomers had Porky's, Smokey and the Bandit, etc. Dumb movies have been around since the silent era.
