Been meaning to check this out. I've heard its not as funny as some of his other early comedies. What do you guys think? Will it make me laugh out loud a lot?

yes, I think it is as funny as Love and Death. It's a HOOT! watch it NOW!
shareIt's a little dated because there's some political humor from the time it was made, but I like it. It still has a few good gags in it.

i find Love And Death better in every way. Bananas is OK to complete your Woody Allen films etc.
shareJust my opinion of course, but I found Love and Death to be funnier and a better film in general. Bananas has some really funny parts but I found myself liking the first half of the movie considerably more than the second half. The second half brought it down for me.
