Albert Finney's makeup

Every year, despite seeing this countless times, I'm always blown away by the detail given to Albert's makeup. I mean, seriously- after the 1st time I caught this tv as a kid, I genuinely thought Albert Finney was a much older man. For years.
The artists did a phenomenal job on him. Right down to his dirty fingernails. The finished product is so convincing. & this was *1970*.
I think it totally stands up today.

Agreed, but when you see Scrooge at his employers party from Christmas past, you can see how young Albert Finney is in 1970, and what a great job he did of playing and old man.

This is the best version.

This has always been at least one of my favorite two versions of the classic tale. I watched it with my 24-year old Marine nephew last year and he could not believe that Albert Finney was actually a young man when the film was made. The make-up holds up incredibly well!

Unless you count the animated versions, or An American Christmas Carol with Henry Winkler, this is the only version of the story I can think of that features the same actor as young AND old Scrooge.
