Piano recital

My piano teacher gave me this theme song to play for a recital. I was about 7 and never heard of this movie. Then some older kids saw this song in the program and I overheard them laughing about it. I felt humiliated and didn’t want to play this stupid lovey dovey corny piece in front of those big kids. So when my turn came to play, I just played the Star Wars theme by memory. It was an easier piece so I knew it by heart. My teacher was all bewildered and asked me why I played the wrong piece. I just said I forgot which piece I was supposed to play and she laughed. One of those rotten kids messed up their piece so that was some bonus schadenfreude for me too. Ahh, childhood.
