Life lessons from Love Story

Oh, lots of things. For one it was dated practically from the day it came out as a sloppy romantic movie and a trendy, smarmy book. It didn't have much chance from the start.

It was dated because there was no point in having her give up her hopes to support him as he went through law school in either medium. It was annoying to see her do that. I can't stand stories that encourage overly romantic kids to run off and get married when they don't have a pot to piss in. Why didn't they just keep sleeping together and wait until AFTER dad paid for law school? It's not like she knew she was going to die. It was also annoying the way Jenny got more and more beautiful as she was dying.

I couldn't bring myself to get emotionally invested in such self centered, childish, arrogant people and for a romantic movie to succeed, the viewers really have to be able to do that.
