Very psychedelic western

Recently watched this and it very much reflects the time it ws created in.

Okay, but how is this "psychedelic?"

reply

I can see some hippie and anti-vietnam war stuff, but it's not really psychedelic. Try "El Topo" to see what a real acid-western looks like.

The Indians were basically hippies and/or Vietnamese and the cavalry were stand-ins for police/National Guardsmen/US Army but psychedelic? Not at all. Even "A Man Called Horse" has more psychedelia with Morgan's hallucinations during his Sun Vow.

Little Big Man is actually more just a very traditional Western with all the old tropes present, but turned on their heads to reflect the anti-establishment mood of young America at the time of its release.
