Indian Girl giving birth alone

If you've seen the movie, there was an indian girl who gave birth alone twice. There is research on certain indian tribes that when indian women go into labor, they go out into the woods alone and give birth alone, without doctors or midwives! There was hardly any infant and maternal death either. It talks about it in Laura Shanley's book, "Unassisted Childbirth". There's 9 chapters in it that include: The Dangers of Medical Intervention, The Psychological Effects of a Traumatic Birth on a Family,Why Physicians Insist on Intervening,Personal Beliefs and Expectations, True Stories of Unassisted Births, The Case of an Autonomous Birth and the authors story .Her website is
www.unassistedchildbirth.com By the way if you visit her site go with an open mind and do not judge the information without reading it first! Real eye opener!
There is even a growing rate of women in the US and worldwide having unassisted childbirths by choice nowadays due to the extensive research they did on this subject and most of them don't regret their choice afterwards! And did you know it's legal too?! This is awesome information if you are planning on having a baby or expecting!

I haven't been to the website, because I'm not planning to give birth any time soon, but if you know where I can get an unassisted epidural, PM me. Thanks.

Bad idea. I had a c-section due to my small size and my baby's large size. You don't want to be alone in a situation like that. Plus you miss the fun of the epidural. Laboring without pain-killer is way over-rated, trust me.

It's not a good idea to get your unassisted childbirth notions from movies. You don't really know what kind of death rate the indians had or didn't have. And I think it good to be near civilization in case of emergency.

Wow what a totally wacky, human life gambling, new-age idea, in a science world
