DVD release
This movie deserves a better DVD package than what is currently available. Are there any plans for that to happen?
shareUnfortunately, that could be said about most of the movies that Paramount has released to DVD. Paramount has a reputation of putting little to no effort into their DVD releases (with the exception of major blockbusters). Even some of Paramount's Oscar winners (such as Ordinary People) have received sub-par DVD releases. Given that reputation, I wouldn't hold my breath for a new edition of a film like this (unfortunately).
shareHaving just watched Little Big Man earlier tonight (for the first time on dvd), I do have to say that while it is regrettable there are no extras at all on this release, the transfer and picture quality for this film is excellent--for an almost 40 year old film, it looks stunning.

There are hundreds, probably thousands, of films that are forty years old and much, much older, going back to the 1920s, that look stunning. Many of them look more "stunning" than most 21st century films.
