Worst movie Ever

Is it just me or has anyone else felt as though they've just wasted hours of their lives on this terribly bad movie.I always watch a movie to the end but this one was so painful that I could hardly stay awake. It is bland, dull and just totally uninteresting. I have seen films that are about red indians and the fighting that went on but this one was terrible definitely Hoffman's worst movie!

Some people do not like this movie, as you do not, but this movie proves to be generally popular with audiences. I thought the movie was engrossing and very interesting. Bland, dull, and uninteresting are not words I would use to describe this movie.

No, just you. So, you thought it was a bad movie? I guess that's why it won so many awards and had the critics raving.

Bland? Dull? Maybe you were watching some other show. You should stick to watching Elmo videos, because this was obviously too much on your tiny little brain.

I didn't like this movie. It felt like a disjointed collection of separate skits with widely varying themes. It veered from biting satire (the racist preacher) to slapstick humor (the snake oil salesman) to solemn commentary on genocide with little sense of plot progression or building to a goal. Some of the story was so absurd that I think it was intended as humor but I don't think I laughed once. I am not familiar with Arthur Penn's work, so maybe he was just the wrong director for a comedy. Others movies have done the same type of story better, eg Forrest Gump.

I think maybe it was over your head

reply

It's just you. This is a great film and one of the few Hollywood examples of what our government did to the natives.

reply

Sorry, but I think it's just you. I love this movie. Saw it originally at the drive-in with my parents when it came out. I was about 11 years old. For a while I pretended Dustin Hoffman was my husband.
This movie opened my eyes to American History, which I have loved ever since. Thanks to this movie I learned more than what our teachers and books were teaching at that time.
And the story is sweet, funny, horrifying, touching; a chronicle of the interesting life of a young, restless man in the wide open west. It bounces around because he bounced around.
I just watched it again today (and recorded it for a future rainy afternoon). I suppose I've seen it, ummm, maybe 20 times. Never gets old.

You know when someone calls a movie like this the "worst ever", they're either a troll or a child.

reply

Or an idiot.

reply

You are a troll.

Glad to see the OP has been called out for such a dum comment.

more like one of the best westerns ever

reply

In the title of your thread you call this the 'worst movie ever'. What is the best movie ever?

reply

I don't agree. This movie is my second all-time favorite. Dr. Zhivago is my favorite.

reply

The OP is an IDIOT. This is my favorite movie of all time and - as subsequent posts - I'm not alone.
