It is called Addagio for Strings. Check out the book Get Back: A Chronicle of The Beatles Let It Be Disaster by Doug Sulphy. It has documentation of the sessions based on the Nagra audio tapes that have been in circulation for some time thanks to bootleggars. These are the same tapes that were recovered a couple of years ago and were reportedly used for the Let It Be dvd, which I hope we see soon!

It's also been copyrighted as 'Paul's Piano Intro'.

If it's the Adagio for Strings that I think it is, it was also feature in "Platoon"

reply

surely its not Adagio for Strings by Barber. It doesn't really sound like it

reply

it does sound a bit like it, or at least like it was inspired by it

entirely possible that paul was just taking a bit of creative licence with it

reply

yea that could be true, but if it actually a piece, if anyone knows what it is let us know!
