Does anyone know the stories behind the other 3 deaths that occurred at Altamont? I never hear anyone talk about them. Were they just drug overdoses or something?

heroin and "bad" LSD.

As far as I have heard two were sleeping in a sleeping bag and run over by a car leaving the event and one guy died in a canal. Seems peculiar that their stories have never emerged. No names, nothing - they must have had some family/friends, it must have been reported somewhere...
There really ought to be an Altamont reunion website. The images from the crowd, the memories of fans, etc... would be fascinating.

The cops did have him in custody but he escaped.
I believe the four births that occurred at Altamont is a myth.
