Film Forum has just extended the run until August 23. The screening I saw yesterday looked like it was sold out; good to know that so many people want to see this magnificent film. The print is excellent, though the "blowing leaves" shot, from my memories of seeing it in 1971, seems a little faded; my impression is that the colors were much more vivid then.

I just saw it tonight and I agree with you. I think this might be a new print, but not from a restored master. My recollection from when I saw this in revival in the late 70's was that the colors were more vibrant, especially the blood in the scene when Anna is assassinated. I am keeping my fingers crossed that someone does a restoration on this film like the one that they appeared to have done for "Elevator to the Gallows". Judging from that trailer, someone did a fanastic job on that restoration. I will definitely be heading back downtown next week to see it.
