When I was watching this, I couldn't help thinking how much Tom O'Malley reminded me of Clark Gable.
I couldn't find any confirmation that the animators based the tomcat on the actor, so I thought I'd just throw it out here and see if others noticed the same thing.
Or might even have some sort of confirmation for this?

LOL, I honestly didn't think of Gable when watching O'Malley. The one who reminds me of Gable a lot is another cat: Tom, from Tom & Jerry, especially when he tries to be "seductive" in some episodes of the early-mid '40s, but I think that it was totally intentional.
