Pop Quiz Time!

Ok, gang, here's your pop quiz question:

By the end of the series, identify the entire contents of Oscar's record collection.

reply

I seem to remember Felix saying the only one he owned was ""Buckle Down, Winsocki""

reply

"Buckle Down, Winsocki" is definitely one of them. There are more.

I phrased the question in terms of the end of the series to cover the fact that Felix does comment at one point on the limited scope of his collection, but we have reason to believe that that may not be entirely accurate, or may have changed over time.

Keep in mind, also, that this quiz is somewhat tongue-in-cheek.

reply

Didn't he win some opera records right before he won the car in the radio station phone contest?

reply

Actually, everything which was won right before the car, Oscar claimed that *Felix* won. It was only when the car was won that Oscar asserted that he himself had won it.

Excellent guess, though!

reply

He also owned an album entitled "Gus Lesnevich Sings Lightweight Hits." Lesnevich was a real boxer, but in the light heavyweight division.

My turn: What was the real first name of Speed, Oscar and Felix's poker buddy?

I'm not crying, you fool, I'm laughing!

reply

That's another good one. But we're not done.

Those two were referenced in the same episode-- in the same line, actually. What Felix actually says was: "Oscar only has one record: 'Gus Lesnevich Sings Lightweight Hits.' That, and 'Buckle Down, Winsocki'." However, we have reason to believe that Oscar has more than that.

reply

Also, to answer tmaj48's question: I believe Speed's real first name was "Homer". I think his full name was "Homer Deagan".

reply

Well, Oscar did claim to own a "little record" of a Boccherini work, but I think he just made that one up.

reply

Ding-Ding-Ding-Ding! Excellent! That's definitely one I was looking for. Like I said, this quiz is a little tongue-in-cheek, we're not going to argue too much about whether he *really* had it or not.

I can think of two more. One requires a huge amount of speculation, but the other we know for absolute certain that he has.

reply

Actually, I just realized that we can make reasonable speculation of a sixth one.

reply

I just discovered yet another record in Oscar's collection, which I had previously overlooked. C'mon gang, get with it!

reply

Not sure if this counts but when Felix had insomnia Oscar played a record for him of ocean sounds to get him to fall asleep-but only after he flipped it over from auto hijinks.

reply

Hell yeah, that counts! And that's not even one of the ones I was thinking of! Double points for you!

Woo hoo!🙋

reply

Bump! C'mon, guys, you're still missing some!

reply

What about the Knute Rockney album? did Felix buy that for his son's team to learn to coach?

reply

I'd have to go back to the episode and double-check, but I *think* Felix bought that album, so it doesn't count. Good thinking, though!

reply

Bump! Since no one is guessing, I'll give you one. And you'll kick yourself for not thinking of it.

We absolutely know for a fact that Oscar has a record of the first attempted marriage of Blanche Madison to Roger Doctor. The one where Felix says "I object!"

It is also reasonable to infer that he has a record of their second attempted marriage too.
