If William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy Were to Play The Odd Couple
Who would play which character?
Douglas, there's no shame in being a trash-can licker.

Nimoy would be Felix.
Shatner would be Oscar.
That's what I envisioned from a physical point of view.
But then I thought that Tony Randall was a bit flamboyant as Felix (and Shatner is flamboyant), and Jack Klugman was a bit reserved as Oscar , more like the straight man (and Nimoy is reserved).
Interesting, though.

Shatner may be more flamboyant. But I can't imagine Leonard Nimoy playing a slob.
If DeForest Kelley was still alive what supporting character would he play?
Uhara would play Myrna.
Bones, Scotty, Sulu, Checkov would play Speed, Murray, Roy, Vinnie respectively. The poker gang.
Fascinating. I guess Nurse Chapel and Yeoman Rand could play the the Pigeon Sisters. Monica Evans and Carole Shelley played Cecily and Gwendolyn Pigeon on Broadway, the movie and the TV version of "The Odd Couple".
I personally would have DeForest Kelly as Murray.
Murray was the third wheel to Felix and Oscar, kind of like how Bones was the third wheel to Kirk and Spock.
Granted, Scotty was more or less like the TV Murray in terms of physicality, but I think the movie version of Murray was more along the lines of Kelly's figure and posture rather than James Doohan.

There is no true Oscar among them. If you were forced to pick one to play him it would be Shatner but he's just not right for the part. Now if you had used Jackie Gleason and Art Carney that would be easy. Since Carney once played Felix on Broadway he'd be good as Felix and Gleason an excellent Oscar.
shareShatner & Nimoy and Klugman & Randall are two of the all time great TV duos. What are some others?

shareGavin MacLeod as Felix and Ed Asner as Oscar.
Cloris Leachman and Valerie Harper as the Pigeon Sisters
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.
