Episode cuts

During the recent marathon on New Year's Day, I noticed the following cuts. By coincidence both episodes had Alan Arbus as a guest star:

In Cleanliness is Next to Impossible (Episode 415) Adam Klugman is listed in the credits, yet doesn't appear in the episode.

In The Hollywood Story (Episode 504) Bob Hope is listed as a guest star on the internet, yet doesn't appear in the episode or in the credits. When introducing the episode the WLNY morning team specifically mentioned that it was the Bob Hope episode, yet I didn't see him.

Does anyone have any further information?

Adam Klugman plays young Oscar in the tag at the end (they probably cut the whole tag out to stuff more commercials in)

Not sure about the Bob Hope appearance. I don't remember ever seeing him in that episode.

Thank God I'm here.

Thank you for your help. I seem to remember that in Cleanliness is Next to Impossible they went straight to the credits after the last commercial.

As for Bob Hope, his IMDb profile does list that episode in his profile. Maybe I will find a DVD to see if he is in it.

Bob Hope still appears in the DVD release. They have edited most of the songs out of the DVD to avaid paying additional royalties.

The episode in which Bob Hope appears is the Hollywood Story.

WLNY also cut Bubba Smith from "Take My Furniture, Please"*

At this rate, I'm surprised they didn't cut Allen Ludden and Betty White from "Password".

A few years ago I was watching The Hub channel late at night and noticed a scene was missing from an episode of "Laverne & Shirley". Unfortunately, commercials have been added to many syndicated TV shows. I guess you need to buy the DVDs if you want to see the real episodes. I think in general more commercials are shown on TV. When I watch my local cable TV news channel it seems like you get one minute of commercials for every minute of news.
