The Poker Buddies

I really do love the gang, some of the best supporting characters in TV land.

Vinnie: Jittery everyman. It always killed me to see his take as Scrooge acting like an ax murderer. Or what he was about to say to Felix after being soundly beaten in gin rummy.

Roy: Could you get a better guy to play an accountant. Biggest thrill in life is the new teletype machine. Which leads us to...

Murray the Cop: Also a fan of the teletype. Married man, hobbies include paint by numbers and betting on professional wrestling. So what if he cleans a loaded gun at home, he'll be happy to give you a ride the squad car.

Homer Deegan. Who? Oh! Speed! Poker addict that is rarely, if ever, without a deck of cards. Even his best memories of youth involved playing for a huge pot when he was 10 years old.

Vinnie went on to be a criminal, a few times and every time with a different name, at the 12th precinct.

Murray went on to own a restaurant in Milwaukee and change his name to Al.

Speed became a homicide LT. in L.A.

Roy,?.

Spenser with an "S", like the poet.

Vinnie also became a urologist named Bernie in Chicago, working on the same floor of the same building as two friends named Bob and Jerry.

Why don't we just shoot 'em down and be through with it?

reply

No word on Roy?

We live as we dream - alone.

reply

Funny how this little poker game also god Speed a role on Quincy.
