did u know its possible to have any score in football except for 1? i figured that out a couple years ago but its funny how people will argue about it with me.
they say "WHAT ABOUT 4?
i say 2 safeties
they say WHAT ABOUT 5?
i say one safety one field goal
they say WHAT ABOUT 17? its a prime number
I say 2 touchdowns w/ extra point each and a field goal

It's an obscure rule and it has never happened in the NFL but there is such a thing as a one point safety.
So, in theory, it is possible to score only one point in a game.

I have just realized that the 1 point safety I referred to has only been in the NFL rules since 2015. Prior to that it was not possible.
The original post was submitted 18 years ago which was obviously before the rule change. So the OP was correct at that time.
