That song...

Hello fans of "McCloud". It's sad to be reminded of our own mortality. Or the ones around us. My father is in almost the same age as Dennis Weaver and I fear that moment...

My question is: Do You remember that song by a stripper (I think) She sings about her club-owner/manager... "Ain't that just the way" or something like that. Who is the singer & what episode was it?

Regards // G

The singer was Barbi Benton and the episode was Park Avenue Pirates.

Wow, I've been looking for that song for years, and I was just about to post the question here. There's a part that goes 'getting up, getting down, getting high, getting low, getting no, no, nowhere....' that's all I remember...is there anyway to hear this song, even in part on the internet? thank again, Janice

I am also wondering why this song is nowhere available, even seems unknown to most search engines. I know the songtitle was performed by another singer in a cover version a couple of years ago but have not since been able to find any useful information. As far as I know, Barbi Benton was a former Playboy playmate who attempted to start a career as a singer - apparently, she did not succeed apart from the mentioned song from Mcloud, which, back then, was played on the radio quite a few times. Again, this is typical of our times, where loads and loads of crap films and music are flooding the market while jewels like these are to be found nowhere. Pretty frustrating!

Never heard of her until I read this thread. Good looking woman, and a good voice too.

As of July 5, 2008 the Barbi Benton version has been removed from youtube. The Lutricia McNeal version is still up.

Probably by the producers of L.Mcneal....they realized that Benton`s version is a zillion times better than hers...

I don't remember her singing Ain't that just the way in that episode but it has been a long time!

3 of the songs (at least) she sang were on her Barbi Benton album (1977?) alas it is not available on CD. HOWEVER those songs and several others from that album are on iTunes off Country Masters: Till the End by Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers and Barbi Benton including Brass Buckles, Jeremy actual title (It's Just) Too Late and Smile. No Philadelphia Freedom though! =( That is all they have for Barbi though. Oddly some of the song titles are different from what I remember like uh, Brass Buckles!
