Sly Reference In Season 7, Episode 1, ' Bonnie and McCloud '

Just came across this obvious inside reference in the season 7, episode 1 of "McCloud", entitled "Bonnie and McCloud".

At the (approximately) 16:45 mark, as Sgt. Joe Broadhurst sits waiting for Sam McCloud in the lobby of The Essex Hotel, a page for "Miss Bebe Murchison" can be repeatedly heard over the intercom system, which is an interesting reference back to the season 6, episode 6, entitled "The Day New York Turned Blue". In that particular episode, Bebe Murchison was the hooker "with the heart of gold" (okay, maybe she didn't really have a heart of gold), as memorably played by a young, Bernadette Peters.

Anybody who happens to have a subscription to Netflix, can check this out as both episodes are available to watch "instantly" online through that service (They also have about seven of the episodes from the season 1 & 2 dvd set that was put out by Universal Studios a number of years ago for immediate viewing, as well as seven episodes from seasons 3 through 7 (including the two mentioned above), that aren't (currently) available on disc.).

Although there's no way of knowing, hopefully Netflix will make more McCloud episodes available for viewing in the near future, since it doesn't look too good for any further dvd releases of this great, great old show.

Oh, and for anyone who does happen to take a look, watch for another interesting (though possibly unintentional) reference later in the "Bonnie and McCloud" episode, when Sam McCloud is menacingly threatened by semi-trailer trucks while driving down the highway in an old blue pick-up truck. Anyone who's a Dennis Weaver fan will no doubt be reminded of his famous appearance in the very memorable made-for-tv movie, "Duel", directed by none other than Steven Spielberg!

Enjoy...........
