Most of the cast members still acting today

Except for Ted Knight, most of the major cast members on this show seem to have been blessed with good health and are still relevant 45 years after the show premiered:

Mary Tyler Moore (78)
Gavin McLeod (84)
Valerie Harper (75) was given three months to live almost 2 years ago
Ed Asner (85) still very active with several upcoming roles
Cloris Leachman (89) still very active
Betty White (93) still as popular now as she was back then
Georgia Engle (66)

This is interesting because if you look at shows that aired around the same time like "The Jeffersons" and "Hawaii Five-0" you see that most of the cast members are deceased.

Although Mary has not been well. She last acted in "Hot in Cleveland" with the other ladies, but she wasn't well enough to walk so she was only taped sitting for her scenes. The most incredible is Betty White, still going strong at 93, I think it is. Acting every week, she looks awesome!

I was going to start a thread on this very topic. There seems to have been something in the water at MTM Enterprises. From "The Bob Newhart Show," of the top 5 stars, only Suzanne Pleshette is gone, and arguably the most well known of the "fringe" regulars, Jack Riley (Elliott Carlin), is still around. On "WKRP in Cincinnati," only Gordon Jump is gone (unless you want to count Carol Bruce's "Mama Carlson" as a major character -- I don't).

FYI, in case you weren't aware, Marcia Wallace passed away a couple of years ago.

hmmm, indeed you are right, my bad.

All of the major stars on "The Love Boat" are still alive. Except for Tom Bosley and Pat Morita, the major characters on "Happy Days" are still alive including Al Molinaro who turns 96 next month.

Who would have thought that Betty White would be the most famous actor still working from that show, 40 years later!
