I don't remember the episode, or really even the particulars other than Rhoda needed a formal dress (I think) for some event. She and Phyllis are are Mary's discussing this, maybe even seeing if she can wear something of Mary's? And Phyllis says something like: "Maybe I have something from when I was pregnant."

Is that the right line? I just remember it was funny; always liked Rhoda and Phyllis's back and forth insults.

And the reason I'm even thinking about is because I just recently watched some American Horror Story episodes from the first season (only five seasons late), and there was an almost identical line: Jessica Lange's daughter wants to dress up for Halloween as a "pretty girl," and her mother says, "Maybe I have something from when I was pregnant [or "...an old maternity dress"].

The line is from "Rhoda The Beautiful" (Season 3, Episode 6).

Mary, Rhoda and Phyllis are in Rhoda's apartment as Rhoda is trying to decide on a dress to wear in her department store's beauty pageant later that night.

After Rhoda goes through several of her own dresses that are now too big for her (she has recently lost weight), Phyllis picks up some dresses she brought with her and says, "All right, let's try mine. These could fit you; I bought them when I was pregnant."

Mary cries out, "Phyllis!"

Phyllis explains, "Just slightly pregnant."

Thank you! That is an impressive response.

To me , Rhoda never looked more beautiful in the whole series than in this episode . She looked beautiful in that gown

I agree! This episode sticks out in my mind as a favorite. Rhoda looked GORGEOUS in the gown she ended up wearing. She was always running herself down before this, with the help of Phyllis.
