The Warren/stalker episode

In the episode where Warren is stalking Mary, is anyone else confused about how that episode ended? Throughout the episode, this guy stalks her relentlessly, even handcuffing Mary in her workplace and basically abducting her while her coworkers do nothing. He finally stops abruptly. Later, she's on a date with some guy when Warren shows up with a mariachi band and a cake. He first acknowledges Mary and before he can say anything else, she tells him off. I turns out the cake is for a woman he's proposing to (she was nowhere to be found in the episode up to this point)and Mary makes a fool of herself while he suddenly becomes a different person where before he was crazy. Did I miss something. or does this whole episode not make any sense?

You are absolutely right. I saw this episode last night again. I guess we are meant to assume some time has elapsed between the last scene (where Rhohea makes the coffee for Mary and Mary tells her this is "the first day in 11 days" that she hasn't heard from Warren; the phone rings several times, Mary won't answer and Rhoda finally picks up but no one is there) and the next, where Mary and her new date are at the restaurant for lunch. Her date does say he's been calling and calling trying to reach her so perhaps that's a clue that time has passed? I do agree it's a stretch. However, seeing as how Warren latched onto Mary at first meeting, perhaps not much time elapsed after all. Warren may have taken the hint after the 12 days, met the blonde, and she might have been just as crazy as he was

Thanks for the reply. I guess that makes a little more sense. This episode was a head scratcher
